Practical Skills and Presentation

 Reflection - hierarchy

In Illustrator I used Type Tool to write text. The typeface I used for the text is Rockwell Bold. For the line around the whole picture, I used the Rectangle Tool and then Fill and Stroke so I could change the color of it.

The word that stands out the most is mirroring (mirror) because rays of light - coming from an object (your smiling face, for example) strike the smooth surface of a mirror, and they bounce back at the same angle.

Proportion and balance

In the Photoshop experiment, I used Select-->Subject so it could identify and select the main subject in which the bird is standing. The background is almost balanced and the proportion of the bird is the same. I'm satisfied with the experiment and how the image looks, but the quality of it could be better and it looks a bit blurry because I increased the image size.

Leaflet

In InDesign, I used the Rectangle Frame Tool to put the image and Object-->Fitting-->Fill Frame Proportionally. Display Performance--> High-quality display to change the quality of an image.

Type-->Fill with Placeholder Text to fill the Text box with the text. Pen Tool-->Stroke and change the type and weight of the line.

Rectangle Tool-->Eyedrop Tool to pick the colour. I used Direct Selection Tool to change the position of the shape.

Rectangle tool--> Polygon Tool to change the number of the sides.

Gradient-->Type: Radial and Colour to change the shape's colour.

Surrealism - Layer Masking

In the Photoshop experiment, I used the Quick Selection Tool to select an object. Layer Masks to hide parts of the image. Move Tool to move an image and put over another picture.

PechaKucha

I used Format Shape to make a reflection of the word 'Reflection'.

Colour for Emphasis

In Photoshop I used the Quick Selection Tool to select a person and then to click on Layer Masking to make the background black and white. Adjustment--> Black&white filter.

I'm satisfied with the experiment because the woman pointing to somewhere works really well and the reflection of the two trains standing on both sides.

My leaflet for Halcyon Gallery

For this experiment, I used InDesign to do my leaflet of gallery pictures. The type style that I used for the text is 'Book Antiqua (regular and bold italic)'. I used the Rectangle Tool to put the photos in these small squares. I really like the idea that I did with the squares and it makes the pictures look more interesting.

Here I added the information about the opening hours of the museum.

I made some changes like changing the picture in the middle which is the work of Andy Warhol. And I also added some text about this artist and filmmaker.

Evaluation
1. What is your final piece? (description of it). What influenced you to do this as your final product?
-My final piece is the leaflet for the Halcyon Gallery. To do this as my final product, influenced me that a leaflet is to provide information about something in an easy-to-read and visually appealing format.

2. Discuss and record your ideas and opinions and how they developed (did you change the idea, why?)
- Yes, I changed the idea about putting some more information about the Andy Warhol artist because you get more information while you read this.

3. What went well with the product? How well did you complete the product? What standard is it? Does it communicate your ideas well? How/why?
-The pictures that I put in many small squares went well because I think it is very interesting to look at each square and you can still see the whole picture.

4. What went less well? Is it messy? Not what you wanted? Not finished? Why do you think this happened?
- The text in the middle of the pictures is very close to them and this is not really what I wanted.

5. If you were to repeat the process again, what would you do differently?
- If I were to repeat the process again and had more time for this I would change the size of the text in the middle as it is very close to the pictures, which looks like there's no space there.

A video of pictures from the gallery

In this experiment, I used CapCut to put all my images from the gallery and make them as a video. I also used a text box to put text and add a little bit of information. I used music which makes the video more interesting. For the text to appear I used different animations. And for the images, I used different animations as well. I'm delighted with the experiment and I really like the way I did it. The text is in a bright pink colour because it will be easier to read. It really helped me with improving my work and it is something new for me when I'm doing a short video of pictures.

My website

https://vladislavaghilciuc.wixsite.com/halcyongallery

The program that I used to make my website of pictures from gallery is Wix. I used my own pictures that I took and added some more information like where its located, opening times, their story and what they have inside the gallery.

My Vox Pop

For my Vox Pop, I used voice recorder on my phone to record a person's voice. To edit my Vox Pop I also used CapCut and I put all the pictures and all the recorded voices. I added different animations to each image to make it more interesting.

My another leaflet

I used InDesign to make another leaflet. For the first 2 pages, I used bright pink colour to grab more attention. And for the last two pages, I used a different colour to make it more interesting.
I added some text for the last 3-4 pages and put pictures of reflections from the glass surface.

My magazine

For my FMP, I used InDesign to make a magazine. For my front cover, I used bright pink text to get more attention to the name of the gallery and the picture in the background. For the next 1-2 pages I added some text about their story and a quote from Paul Green who opened the gallery. I also used the Rectangle Tool to fill it with bright pink colour to make it look more interesting and on top of this I used the Rectangle Tool again to place the picture.  I'm delighted with the magazine that I did and it is really related to reflections. The text that is written there, I took it from the Halcyon gallery website. The text "Our story" really went well and I like the way I did it. But the picture in the middle didn't really went well, because the size of it is a bit different.

My invitation

For my invitation I used InDesign, A5 paper size, I used a soft pink colour, and used a gradient as well to make it look more interesting as a background. The picture of the Halcyon Gallery and the text on the left-hand side shows what it will be about. I also used different typefaces, for example for "Halcyon Gallery" is Broadway-Regular, for the text below the picture is Source Serif Variable-Italic, and for the date and time is Source Serif Variable-Semibold Italic.

My poster

For my poster I used InDesign, A4 paper size, I used light blue as a background, and used a gradient here as well to make it look more interesting. I also used different typefaces, for example for "Open day" is
Berlin Sans FB Demi-Bold, for "at Stanmore college" is Lucida Handwriting-Italic, and for the longer text under it is Microsoft Sans Serif-Regular.
